Re: Ficus carica from cuting
The way things are progressing by mid-spring you will be able to have substantial growth of the roots and foliage.
personally, since we are talking about the specific species, i would probably start fertilising in few weeks and by mid spring i would start pruning (clip n' grow)

I agree with fertilising(even though it sounds to early)but the clip and grow depends on the growth you will get....mind you if you have the patience(which i dont have)you should leave it free growing this year and then you will see....

Very critical is when you will remove the plastic bag. If you remove it too soon then it will be a problem and usually there is no come back.

Thank you all for your response.
Your input is very useful to me.
Stavros, would you suggest a weaker dilution for the first feedings?
Savvas, I'd say that I have the patience to let it grow free (...at least I think I have)
Greg, when the time comes to remove the bag I intend to keep the pots for a while in a hall at the appartment building where they have lots of light and a stable temperature and then gradually get them accustomed with external conditions. In fact I have the wrapped pots kept in the hall since the begining.
So, I hope that in the near future I will be in a position to post photos

i guess you can use a fertiliser at half strength in case you want to be on the conservative site.
personally i would go full strength since the substrate(perlite) won't hold much (if any) anyway.
